We have nothing to live for, but death. So you don't have to worry about having to do something to make yourself successful, because though it may matter at this moment, it won't do you any good after you die. You won't sit on the highest podium in the afterlife, because there is none. We're all equal. We're all good people, we just make stupid mistakes, stupid decisions.
